Abstract

One of the obstacles in the cultivation of rice is disease. In lowland blight bacterial leaf disease is one of the main diseases caused by the bacteria Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzae (Xoo). This research was carried out in the Experimental Garden, Plant Disease Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh with the aim to determine the resistance of three cultivars of paddy to Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzae (Xoo) which causes bacterial leaf blight. Three cultivars of lowland rice namely: Ciheurang, Inpari 10, and Inpari 13 were tested for their resistance to this disease by using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of three replications. The results showed that the Inpari 10 and Inpari 13 cultivars were more sensitive to bacterial leaf blight compared to the Ciherang cultivar. The longer the incubation period, the lower the level of intensity of bacterial leaf blight attack on Inpari 10, Inpari 13, and Ciherang cultivars.
