Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of media literacy of English students, while the components in determining the level of media literacy are technical skills, content decoding skills, and knowing facts. In media literacy, there are 3 levels, namely access level, analysis level, and evaluating level. This research used quantitative research. The research subjects were 209 people from English Department in the academic year of 2019-2022. Questionnaire were used to collect data. The research data were analyzed and interpreted using the IBM SPSS Statistic V. 25 software application. The findings in this study can be concluded that the highest score for the media literacy component is technical skills, the average score is 3.38 and the lowest score for the content decoding skill component is 3.20. Based on the results of this study, the level of media literacy awareness for English Student Universitas Jambi was high level.
