Abstract
ABSTRACT Batanghari River is one of the rivers that has the highest potential for freshwater fish diversity in Sumatra. The condition of the Batanghari River in Batanghari Regency undergoes morphological deformation, this can be seen from the level of river water pollution. This study aims to determine the diversity, dominance, and evenness of fish species in the Batanghari River Batanghari Regency. Data collection was carried out by survey method and purposive sampling and divided into 3 stations, namely station I in Terusan Village, Muara Tembesi Subdistrict, Station II in Pasar Keramat Tinggi Village, Station III in Tebing Tinggi Village, Pemayung Subdistrict. Collection of samples using gill nets measuring 0.5; 1; 1.5 inches, pull net size 1 inch and 50m long. The results shows that there were 15 species from 13 genera and 7 families, while the largest family found was the Cyprinidae family (40%) in the Batanghari river, Batanghari Regency. The calculation results show diversity index, dominance index and evenness index of fish species in the three stations are classified as low. this is allegedly due to the influence of the physical chemical factors of river water. Kata Kunci : Batanghari river, fish, diversity index, dominance index, evenness index.
