Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: The World Health Organization presented that tobacco smoking kills more than 5 million people per year and is projected to kill 10 million people by 2020. Based on an initial survey at SMK 3, student data for SMK N in Jambi province, the highest number of students is in Jambi province, namely SMK N 3 Jambi City with a total of 1986 students. This study aims to identify factors related to early smoking behavior in students of SMK N 3 Jambi City in 2023. Method: The type of research used was a cross-sectional study with a sample of 95 people, the technique used in this study was proportional random sampling where the entire population has the same opportunity to be sampled. Results: This study found that there was a relationship between parents and smoking behavior with a P-Value <0.05 (0.017), peers with a P-Value <0.05 (0.000), knowledge with students who had good knowledge (PR=2.164) ; 95% CI: 1.279-3.661 with P-Value = 0.006), exposure to advertisements proved statistically significant (P-Value = 0.000) and there was no relationship between psychological satisfaction and smoking behavior in SMK Negeri 3 Jambi City students with P-Value = 0.459). Conclusion: There is a relationship between parents, peers, knowledge and exposure to advertisements with smoking behavior and there is no relationship between psychological satisfaction and smoking behavior at SMK Negeri 3 Jambi City. ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : World Health Organization mempresentasikan bahwa rokok tembakau membunuh lebih dari 5 juta orang per tahun dan diproyeksikan akan membunuh 10 juta orang sampai tahun 2020. Berdasarkan survey awal di SMK 3 data siswa SMK N Se- provinsi Jambi jumlah Siswa paling banyak diprovinsi jambi yaitu SMK N 3 Kota Jambi dengan jumlah siswa 1986 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan perilaku merokok awal pada siswa SMK N 3 Kota Jambi Tahun 2023. Metode :Jenis penelitian digunakan adalah penelitian cross sectional sampel penelitian ini 95 orang, teknik yang pada penelitian ini menggunakan proportional random sampling dimana seluruh populasi memiliki kesempatan yang sama untuk menjadi sampel. Hasil :Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ada hubungan antara orang tua dengan perilaku merokok dengan P-Value < 0,05 (0.017), teman sebaya dengan P-Value < 0,05 (0,000), pengetahuan dengan siswa yang berpengetahuan baik (PR=2.164; 95% CI: 1.279-3.661 dengan P-Value=0,006), paparan iklan terbukti signifikan secara statistik (P-Value=0,000) dan tidak ada hubungan antara kepuasan psikologi dengan perilaku merokok siswa SMK Negeri 3 Kota Jambi dengan P-Value=0,459). Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan antara orang tua, teman sebaya, pengetahuan dan paparan iklan dengan perilaku merokok dan tidak ada hubungan antara kepuasan psikologi dengan perilaku merokok SMK Negeri 3 Kota Jambi.
