Abstract

Latar Belakang: Promosi K3 melalui program safety talk bertujuan untuk menyampaikan pesan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) di tempat kerja. Sebagaimana yang tertulis dalam PP No. 50 Tahun 2012 terkait dengan penerapan SMK3, komunikasi K3 melalui program safety talk merupakan salah satu komponen pendukung upaya pencegahan kecelakaan kerja. Metode: Penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Informan penelitian sebanyak 8 orang yang terdiri dari 3 orang informan kunci yaitu pihak manajemen dan 5 orang informan utama yaitu para operator di tiap stasiun pengolahan PKS Bunut PTPN VI Jambi. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan safety talk di PKS Bunut sudah terlaksana dengan cukup baik dan mayoritas karyawan telah mengetahui tujuan dari penerapan safety talk. Hal ini didukung dengan keberhasilan penerapan safety talk yang ditandai dengan menurunnya angka kecelakaan kerja pada beberapa tahun terakhir. Namun, dalam pelaksanaannya terdapat kendala dalam cara berkomunikasi antara karyawan pimpinan dan karyawan pelaksana, serta kesadaran dan kepedulian karyawan yang menjadi tantangan dalam penerapan safety talk di PKS Bunut. Kesimpulan: Penerapan safety talk di PKS Bunut telah dilaksanakan secara rutin dan baik. Dalam proses pelaksanaannya terdapat beberapa hal yang harus ditingkatkan dari sisi karyawan pimpinan maupun karyawan pelaksana sehingga kendala dan tantangan yang ada dapat diatasi dan keberhasilan penerapan safety talk dapat tercapai sebagai upaya pencegahan kecelakaan kerja di PKS Bunut. Kata Kunci: safety talk, penerapan, kecelakaan kerja Background: K3 promotion through safety talk program aims to convey the message of occupational safety and health (OSH) in the workplace. As written in PP No. 50 of 2012 related to the implementation of SMK3, K3 communication through the safety talk program is one of the supporting components of work accident prevention efforts. Method: The research was conducted qualitatively using an in-depth interview and observation approach. There were 8 research informants consisting of 3 key informants, namely the management and 5 main informants, namely operators at each PKS Bunut processing station, PTPN VI Jambi. Results: The results showed that the implementation of safety talk at PKS Bunut has been carried out quite well and the majority of employees already know the purpose of implementing safety talk. This is supported by the successful implementation of safety talk which is marked by a decrease in the number of work accidents in recent years. However, in its implementation, there are obstacles in how to communicate between leadership employees and implementing employees, as well as employee awareness and concern which are challenges in implementing safety talk at PKS Bunut. Conclusion: The implementation of safety talk at PKS Bunut has been carried out regularly and well. In the implementation process, there are several things that must be improved from the side of employees, leaders and implementing employees so that existing obstacles and challenges can be overcome and the successful implementation of safety talk can be achieved as an effort to prevent work accidents at PKS Bunut.
