Abstract

ABSTRACT The number of new political parties that have popped up in the 2019 General Election contestation was one of the political phenomena that occurred, various new political parties that took part in the 2019 General Election contestation then one of them was Perindo. But of course, victory is not that easy to achieve. In Jambi Province, only the Berkarya Party was able to gain a legislative seat, while the Perindo Party had to accept their defeat in 2019, even though a lot of preparations had been made by the party, of course, huge changes had to be done to analyze the failings in 2019. This study aims to determine the causes of the Perindo Party's failure in Jambi Provision and how the Perindo Party responds and improves to prepare for the upcoming 2024 election, employing qualitative methods as well as SWOT analysis theory to explain the phenomena that occur. Researchers can conclude that the individualist attitude of legislative candidates, along with a lack of party cadre creation, is the root reason of party failure.
