Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitan ini adalah untuk menggambarkan dan menganalisis model peningkatan kinerja melalui komitmen organisasional serta implikasinya terhadap Industri Pulp di Sumatera termasuk Jambi, Pekan Baru dan Palembang. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan teknik probability sampling. Kriteria pemilihan sampel yaitu karyawan Industri Pulp di Jambi, Pekan Baru dan Pelembang. Total sampel 240 orang yang diperoleh dari Jambi, Pekan Baru dan Palembang. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Data yang di peroleh diolah menggunakan analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) berbasis component atau variance yang terkenal dengan Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh langsung kompetensi, pengembangan karir, motivasi ekstrinsik dan komitmen organisasional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Industri pulp. Selanjutnya pengaruh tidak langsung kompetensi, pengembangan karir dan motivasi ekstrinsik berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan dimediasi oleh komitmen organisasional. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar CEO Industri Pulp perlu memberikan perhatian terhadap pengembangan kompetensi karayawan, karena beberapa karyawan belum tahu bagaimana bekerja secara sempurna berdasarkan standard. ABSTRACT The objective of the research is to describe and analyze performance improvement model through organizational commitment and its implication for Pulp Industry in Sumatera includes Jambi, Pekan Baru and Palembang. The research method used descriptive quantitative. The sample of the research used probability sampling technique. The sample selection criteria are employees of Pulp Industry in Jambi, Pekan Baru and Palembang. Total samples were 240 people obtained from Jambi, Pekan Baru and Palembang. Data analysis was done by using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The obtained data were processed by using a component-based or variance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis which is known as Partial Least Square (PLS). The results showed that the direct influence of competency, career development, extrinsic motivation and organizational commitment had a positive and significant effect on employee performance in Pulp Industry, then the indirect effect of competence, career development and extrinsic motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance mediated by organizational commitment. This research recommends that CEO of Pulp Industry need to pay attention to employees competency development because some of them do not know how to work properly base on standard.
