Abstract
The present study aimed to investigate and describe English teacher candidates’ knowledge level of TPACK, the effect of TK, PK, CK, TCK, PCK, and TPK on TPACK knowledge of English teacher candidates, and their experiences in using technology to implement the teaching process. Mix method was used as the methodology of the present study. In order to explain the finding, a sequential explanatory design was used in this study. There were 96 English teacher candidates who participated to fill out the questionnaire of the present study. The instruments consisted of questionnaires and interviews. The finding showed that there were three dimensions that have a higher level among the seven domains of TPACK, namely: PCK, TK, and TPACK. Moreover, there was a simultaneous influence of the six knowledge domains on TPACK knowledge. However, partially these variables do not have a significant effect. Besides, qualitative findings found deep information regarding English teacher candidates’ experiences and points of view in implementing technology for English language teaching. Several recommendations were proposed by the researcher for further studies.
