Abstract

Organic farming implies that agriculture involves more intensive human intervention to use land and try to improve yields based on environmentally frindly principles wihich sustainable and it carriet out in accordance with local condition. At present the trend of demand organic vegetables in influenced by this phenomenon along with the awareness of the importance of consuming products without chemicals. Nevertheless consumers are faced with limited resources to get it. This study objectives are studying the factors that influence consumer demand for organic vegetables and analyzing food safety valuations, namely organic vegetables. Through interview technique called the bidding price method, by using a combination of open (open ended) and close-ended CVM (Contigent Valuation Method) approaches. The result showed that of the total respondents, 39.87% were willing to pay more for these organic vegetable products, whereas if prices rose to 80%, only 7.69% were willing to pay more for the product. Factors that influence consumers" willingness to pay for vegetables are educations, age, quality and bidding price variables that have a significant effect on organic vegetable willingness to pay. In addition, price attributes are also a special condideration for consumers to buy organic vegetables as a sign that increased consumption of organic vegetables can be driven by a decrease in selling prices and gurenteed authenticity of product wich also reflects the factors the influence the demand for organic vegetables.
