Abstract

The purpose of this study to examine the correlation between female student and English speaking anxiety among English study program students at one university in Jambi. This study used quantitative research method. The population of this study were all females from years 2022, 2021,2020, and 2019 and used total-cluster sampling technique. The researcher used FlCAS with five-point likert scale. FLCAS divided by three components, there were communicative compentence, anxiety test and fear of negative evaluation. Data collection was carried out by spreading the Google form link through the WhatsApp group chat as many as 27 questionnaires items and calculated with SPSS. The result showed that there was negative correlation between female students and English-speaking anxiety. Most of the students achieved high score on fear of negative evaluation which means that the students were anxious and afraid of other’s persception from others and low score on communicative apprehension.
