Abstract

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that there will be around 1.2 billion women over the age of 50 by 2030. This age is the age range for a woman experiencing menopause. Menopause is the permanent cessation of the menstrual cycle which will not escape the emergence of disturbing complaints. This collection of symptoms or complaints during menopause can cause anxiety and have an effect on quality of life that menopausal women consider disturbing. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between menopausal syndrome and anxiety and quality of life for menopausal women at the Kenali Besar Health Center, Jambi City. Methods: This research used quantitative research with a correlational type of research used a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used the accidental sampling approach to 100 menopausal women respondents at the Kenali Besar Health Center, Jambi City. Results: The results of the study were analyzed with the Kendall Tau correlation test. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant relationship between menopausal syndrome and anxiety with a p-value of 0.001 and r 0.686. Likewise, the relationship between menopausal syndrome and the quality of life of postmenopausal women with a p-value of 0.001 and r 0.726 means having a significant relationship between variables. Conclusion: This research showed that there is a significant relationship between menopausal syndrome with the anxiety and quality of life of menopausal women at the Kenali Besar Health Center which shows a strong relationship.
