Abstract

This study finds and describes perlocutionary acts performed by the main characters in the Black Widow movie. There are five types of perlocutionary acts described in this study, namely assertive, directive, commissive expressive, and declarative. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The research data were taken based on the dialogues carried out by the main characters contained in the Black Widow movie. Then, the data were analyzed and categorized based on the theory proposed by Searle about types of perlocutionary acts. From the data that have been analyzed, 35 data have perlocutionary acts. First, there are 9 assertive data indicating that the utterances made by the main characters of Black Widow are mostly in the form of statements that are believed by speakers to be cases or not. Then, there are 16 directive data found in the Black Widow movie. The data are classified into orders, commands, and requests because they influence the interlocutors to do something. Third, commissive data found as many as 2 data, they are classified into promise and threat. These utterances make the speakers do something in the future. Next, the data that appear the most are expressive, as many as 12 data. Those 12 data are classified into apologies, satires, criticism, praising, blaming, and giving awards. As the definition of expressive, they are related to feelings, emotions, and any psychological expressions express by the speaker. Last, the data that appear the least is declarative, which only has 1 datum. The declarative in the Black Widow movie is related to declaration conveyed by the speaker about her decision that change situation and her life status.
