Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze efforts to implement political education for novice voters at SMA N 4 Tanjung Jabung Timur in facing the 2024 general election, as well as obstacles in implementing political education for novice voters at SMA N 4 Tanjung Jabung Timur in facing elections. general public in 2024. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with the data collected in the form of primary and secondary data. Methods of data collection using interviews and documentation, while descriptive data analysis. The results of the study show that efforts to carry out political education for novice voters at SMA N 4 Tanjung Jabung Timur to face the 2024 general election are carried out by providing information about election activities through subjects at school, as well as providing training or simulation of election activities through election activities for the chairman. OSIS, where these efforts aim to improve the cognitive aspects (knowledge), affective aspects and psychomotor aspects of novice voters in this school so that they are better prepared to face and participate in exercising their right to vote in the upcoming 2024 election. Obstacles in implementing political education for novice voters at SMA N 4 Tanjung Jabung Timur to face the 2024 general election are limited resources in implementing political education including the availability of limited human and financial resources, as well as a lack of coordination from the KPU, Kesbangpol, political parties in the implementation of political education.
