Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the behavior of elderly voters in Limbur, Merangin the 2019 Election, as well as the factors that influence the behavior of people voters in limbur District in the 2019 Election. The type of research is descriptive qualitative research with primary data and secondary data. Data was collected using interview and documentation methods. Informants were selected using purposive sampling and descriptive data analysis. The results showed that the behavior of elderly voters in limbur District in the 2019 Election could be seen from three approaches, namely a sociological approach where elderly voters in making their choices depended on their family environment and social environment, then from a psychological approach there were elderly voters who made their choices. based on the attitude, figure or image and style of the candidate's language that they see and feel, as well as a rational approach in which elderly voters choose on the basis of the benefits they will receive, both the benefits of the vision, mission and work programs presented as well as the material benefits provided by the candidates. candidate for them. From the three approaches, the majority of elderly voters in limbur District are rational voters.
