Abstract

The aims of this study are as follows: To find out and analyze the strategies of the candidates and the success team in winning the election of women legislative members in the 2019 legislative elections in West Tanjung Jabung Regency, to find out and analyze the constraints of the candidates and the success team in winning female legislative candidates in 2019 legislative elections in West Tanjung Jabung Regency. This type of research is a qualitative research with the analytical method used in this study carried out by means of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that: The majority of these candidates use their personal social media pages to carry out campaigns or upload their political narratives. The legislative candidates communicate in addition to indirectly, they also communicate face-to-face or directly, generally by making visits to the homes of residents who are their constituents. What is unique about the communication model of the legislative candidates is that they also focus on approaching youth communities or the organizations they follow. This is because as young people, they actively organize or gather with other young people who have the same interests or hobbies. This community-based approach is an option, because apart from being economical, it is also easy to communicate due to their closeness to the target audience or mass base. That the strategy of prospective legislative members with a successful team of legislative candidates in the 2019 West Tanjung Jabung district election in getting first-time voters' votes. The strategy they have is almost the same, so another factor that can be used as a comparison for the losers and the winners is how close the candidates for legislative members are to the first-time voters internally. In addition, first-time voters or millennials do not like the political promises made by candidates for legislative members, first-time voters are interested in the facts or realities that have been given by prospective members of the legislature to the public.
