Abstract
Aura Sausan Amoreta, A1B219098. “STUDENT’S PERCEPTION TOWARD THE USE OF TIK TOK AS MEDIA IN LEARNING VOCABULARY: A CASE OF ONE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT IN JAMBI. A Skripsi of Department of English Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Jambi University, Jambi, 2023. Advisor I: Prof.Amirul Mukminin, S.Pd., M.Sc.Ed., Ph.D. Advisor II: Dr. Ella Mashita, S.Pd., M.P.d., M.Sc. The present study was intended to explore high-school students’ perception toward the use of TikTok as media in learning vocabulary in Jambi City, Indonesia, were involved in this study. The study employed a quantitative method with using questionnaires as data collection methods. Basic descriptive analysis was used to analyze data from the questionnaire. The results indicated that the students in this study use tiktok for interest learning vocabulary. There were 81 samples were involved. Based on the indicators of students’ perception interest in learning vocabulary through TikTok, the students showed different responses in terms of attention, motivation, enjoyment, perceptions, and activities. 59,20% of the students showed interested when giving their responses on attention, 49,30% of the students showed high of interested when responding on motivation questions, 59,50% of them stated that learning vocabulary through TikTok is interested when they responded on items about enjoyment, 62,60% stated that of them very interested when giving their perceptions in learning vocabulary through TikTok, 56,70% of the participants who claimed that the learning activities are interested. Based on the results, it showed that the results of the questionnaire and interview answers matched. Keywords: Students’ perception, Vocabulary, TikTok
