Abstract
Phase 1 of the study was carried out in a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 7 treatments and 5 replications. The prepared treatment consisted of TK0 = soybean flour + 0% condensed tannins; TK2= soybean flour + 2% condensed tannins; TK4= soybean flour + 4% condensed tannins; TK6 = soybean flour = 6% condensed tannins. Parameters observed in phase 1 research were concentration (NH3), total protein production, percentage of RUP and RDP while phase 2 research was carried out in Latin Squares (BSL) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments arranged were SBM-TK0 = basal feed + 0 g; SBM-TK25 = basal feed + 25 g; SBM-TK50 = basal feed + 50 g; SBM-TK75 = basal feed + 75 g; SBM-TK100 = feed + 100 g. Parameters observed were the consumption of DM feed, production and quality of milk as well as blood metabolite profiles. Analysis of variance was carried out to see the level of protection and effect of SBM-TK supplementation on the parameters measured. While Duncan's test was carried out to see the difference in effect between treatments. The results of the first phase of the study showed that the protective effect of SBM-TK from sengon leaves had a significant (P<0.05) effect on NH3, total protein production, RUP and RDP. SBM protection with TK level 2, 4, 6% was not significantly different (P<0.05). The results of the second phase of the study showed that the effect of SBM TK supplementation had a significant effect (P<0.05) on KBK/0.75 g/head, KBK %BB, milk production, SNF, protein, total solids and cholesterol. The milk production of the SBM100 and SBM75 treatments was significantly (P<0.05) higher than that of the SBM0 and SBM25 treatments. However, it was not significantly (P>0.05) different from the SBM50 treatment. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of condensed tannins from sengon leaf extract at a level of 2% is effective for protecting soybean meal from degradation by microbes in the rumen. Supplementation of SBM protected by condensation tannins from sengon leaf extract at a level of 50 g per head per day resulted in optimal milk production and milk quality without causing a negative indication of the blood metabolite profile of Etawah cross-breed dairy goats.
