Abstract

Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan merupakan proses pendugaan tingkat kecocokan lahan pada berbagai penggunaan lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelas kesesuaian lahan dan faktor pembatas yang mempengaruhi produksi kelapa sawit di PT. Gemilang Makmur Sawit serta tindakan yang diperlukan dalam meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman kelapa sawit di PT. GMS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei pada tingkat detail skala 1:25.000 dengan sistem grid. Dari hasil overlay peta tekstur tanah dan peta lereng diperoleh 4 Satuan Lahan Homogen (SLH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sub kelas kesesuaian lahan potensial di daerah penelitian yaitu Kelas S1 (sangat sesuai) pada SLH I dan S3-rc (sesuai marginal dengan faktor pembatas media perakaran) pada SLH II, SLH III dan SLH IV. Land suitability evaluation is the process of estimating the level of land suitability for various land uses. This study aims to determine land suitability classes and limiting factors that affect oil palm production at PT. Gemilang Makmur Sawit and the actions needed to increase the productivity of oil palm plants at PT. GMS. This study uses a survey method at the level of detail on a scale of 1:25.000 with a grid system. From the results of the overlay of soil texture maps and slope maps, 4 Homogeneous Land Units were obtained. The results showed that the potential land suitability sub-classes in the study area were S1 class (very suitable) at SLH I and S3-rc (marginally compatible with the limiting factor of the root medium) at SLH II, SLH III and SLH IV.
