Abstract

Kulit memerlukan perlindungan terhadap paparan sinar ultraviolet yang menyebabkan eritema, sunburn, penuaan dini dan kanker kulit. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan dengan sediaan tabir surya berupa gel ekstrak metanol daun perepat (Sonneratia alba) yang memiliki nilai SPF sebagai perlindungan terhadap sinar UV. Tujuan penelitian adalah menentukan nilai SPF dari ekstrak metanol daun perepat dan gel ekstrak metanol daun perepat secara in vitro. Formula gel dibuat dengan berbagai variasi yang akan dilakukan evaluasi fisik selama 28 hari meliputi organoleptis, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat, viskositas dan cyling test serta uji SPF menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis dengan panjang gelombang 290- 320 nm. Hasil evaluasi fisik sediaan gel FI dan FII telah memenuhi persyaratan gel yang baik sedangkan FIII tidak memenuhi persyaratan pada uji viskositas. Penentuan nilai SPF pada gel tabir surya dengan nilai tertinggi pada FIII kategori ultra, FII sebesar kategori ultra dan FI sebesar kategori maksimal. Gel yang memenuhi persyaratan dan nilai SPF terbaik dengan kategori ultra yaitu FII. The skin needs protection agains exposure to ultraviolet rays which cause erythema, sunburn, premature tanning and skin cancer. This can be overcame by using sunscreen preparation in the form of methanol extract gel from the leaves of perepat (Sonneratia alba) which has an SPF value as protection againts rays. The aim of the study was to determine the spf value of perepat leaf methanol extract and perepat leaf methanol exctract gel in vitro. The gel formula is made with various variations which will be carried out physical evaluation for 28 days including organoleptic, Ph, spreadability, stickiness, viscosity, adhesion and cycling test as well as SPF test using UV-Vis spechtrophotometry with a wavelength og 290-320 nm. The result of the physical evaluation of FI and FII gel preparations met the requirements for a good gel while FIII did not meet the requirements for viscosity test. Determination of the SPF value on sunscreen gel with the highest value in the FIII category ultra, FII for the ultra category and FI maximum category. The gel that meets the requirements and best SPF value in the ultra category is FII.
