Abstract

Temu putih mempunyai khasiat antioksidan. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya ekstrak rimpang temu putih memiliki nilai IC50 72.61 (kuat). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa rimpang temu putih memiliki potensi yang tinggi dalam memberikan efek antioksidan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode Simplex Lattice Design, dimana perbandingan konsentrasi metil selulosa dan propilen glikol berbeda dalam tiap 5 formula, yaitu 4:11 ; 3,25: 11,75 ; 1;14 ; 2,5:12,5 ; 1,75:13,25. Selanjutnya tiap formula dilakukan uji viskositas, homogenitas, organoleptis, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat. Formula dengan nilai desirability mendekati 1,000 dianggap menunjukkan perbandingan formula optimum. Pada penelitian ini didaptkan nilai desirability, yaitu 0,710 dengan perbandingan metil selulosa dan propilen glikol (2,22728:12,772). Hasil verifikasi menunjukkan hasil viskosita 4019,15 Cp ; pH 6,61 ; daya sebar 6,62 cm ; dan daya lekat 14,84 detik. Selajutnya dilakukan uji antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH. Hasil uji antioksidan gel optimal ekstrak rimpang temu putih, yaitu 92,77 yang dapat dikategorikan kuat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah konsentrasi metil selulosa untuk mendapatkan formula optimum yaitu sebesar 2,22728%, sedangkan konsentrasi propilen glikol sebesar 12,7727%. Dan nilai IC50 dari ekstrak rimpang temu putih sebesar 56,44 ppm yang dikategorikan kuat, sedangkan nilai IC50 gel optimum ekstrak rimpang temu putih sebesar 92,77 ppm yang dikategorikan kuat. White turmeric has antioxidant properties. Based on previous research, white gturmeric rhizome extract has an IC50 value of 72.61 (strong). This shows that white turmeric rhizomes have high potential in providing antioxidant effects. The method used in this research is the Simplex Lattice Design method, where the concentration ratio of methyl cellulose and propylene glycol is different in each of the 5 formulas, namely 4:11; 3.25: 11.75 ; 1;14 ; 2.5:12.5 ; 1.75:13.25. Next, each formula was tested for viscosity, homogeneity, organoleptic, pH, spreadability, adhesive power. A formula with a desirability value close to 1,000 is considered to show the optimum formula comparison. In this study, the desirability value was obtained, namely 0.710 with a ratio of methyl cellulose and propylene glycol (2.22728:12.772). The verification results showed a viscosity of 4019.15 Cp; pH 6.61; spreadability 6.62 cm; and sticking power 14.84 seconds. Next, an antioxidant test was carried out using the DPPH method. The results of the optimal antioxidant gel test for white turmeric rhizome extract were 92.77 which can be categorized as strong. The conclusion of this research is that the concentration of methyl cellulose to obtain the optimum formula is 2.22728%, while the concentration of propylene glycol is 12.7727%. And the IC50 value of white turmeric rhizome extract is 56.44 ppm which is categorized as strong, while the IC50 value of the optimum gel of white turmeric rhizome extract is 92.77 ppm which is categorized as strong.
