Abstract
The purpose of the study was to explore the factors that cause students' xenoglossophobia in the transition from online to in-person classroom and how students overcome their xenoglossophobia. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study, and semi-structured, in-depth interviews were used to collect data. The snowball sampling method was employed to select a sample of ten participants who were students majoring in English education. The findings of the study showed that there were two factors that caused students' xenoglossophobia: cognitive factors (limited vocabulary, poor grammar, and lack of pronunciation) and affective factors (the environment, fear of making mistakes, and negative self-perceptions). The results of the study also showed four strategies to overcome students' xenoglossophobia: preparation, relaxation, positive thinking, and mix the languages.
