Abstract
Basically, laboratory management is the joint responsibility of both managers and users. Laboratory managers should have understanding and skills in working in the laboratory, work according to their duties and responsibilities, and follow regulations. Problems found in partner schools include: 1) Laboratory management has not been implemented properly, 2) The laboratory has not been used at all for practicums in the last 3 years, 3) Practicum-based learning in the laboratory has not been implemented due to laboratory equipment, materials, facilities/infrastructure inadequate, 3) Lack of laboratory management training for teachers in partner schools. The solution offered is through: 1) training and assistance regarding management, 2) re-encouraging the use of laboratories and laboratory infrastructure, 3) assistance in implementing several practical materials for teachers, 4) training to increase knowledge, understanding and skills for teachers in managing laboratory through demonstrations and management assistance in implementing practicums, using the necessary tools and materials, 5) Offering ongoing training and evaluating training that has been implemented. Implementation of community service starts from a site survey, discussions with the Head of MAN 3 M. Jambi and teachers to find solutions in solving problems, conducting outreach, lectures/counseling, mentoring and training in laboratory management. It is hoped that this activity will provide benefits to teachers and partner schools, and can be disseminated to teachers in other schools and collaborate for further activities in the future.
