Abstract
Psycholinguistics is a new discipline between psychology and linguis-tics. Psychology examines the process of thinking, while linguistics ex-amines language. Both language and thought are two distinct aspects, but they are related. With this, experts have different views. The Sapir-Whorf theory states that language determines the mind. In fact, Piaget's theory holds a mind that is not language. Elsewhere with Vygotsky's theory, he argues that at an early stage language and thought develop separately, then meet and mutually. Chomsky refers to the hypothesis of conscience, where language has existed from birth and the concept of language around the world is universal (called deep structure or deep structure), while at the outside level the language has diversity (called the outer structure or surfacestructure). Furthermore, Brunner with the theory of instrumentalism states that language and thought is a tool for action to take effect. Keywords: Theory, Psycholinguistics, Experts
