Abstract

PT Agrowiyana, an oil palm processing company in Tebing Tinggi, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi, has a warehouse to store spare parts and equipment to support smooth production. PT Agrowiyana faces problems with the uncoordinated layout of spare parts in the warehouse, causing difficulties for employees in retrieving and searching for items, and some items do not match the bincard. This research aims to redesign PT Agrowiyana's warehouse layout, focusing on the Dedicated Storage method, to improve organization, ease of operation, and accessibility for employees. This policy will make it easier to find goods, but will take up more space because the empty space for one material or material cannot be used by another material or material. This study aimed to design an improved layout and storage of goods for the warehouse and compare the proposed layout and storage of goods with the current layout and storage of goods. The decrease in the total distance of material handling from the current warehouse layout to the proposed layout 1 is 3,710m / month and for the decrease in the total distance of material handling the current warehouse layout with the proposed warehouse layout 2 is 3,145m / month and for the decrease in the total distance of material handling the current warehouse layout with the proposed warehouse layout 3 is 10,057m / month. Based on the placement of products that have been done, it can be concluded that Proposed Layout 3 is the best proposed layout because it has a decrease in the total distance of material handling as much as 10,057m / month or 23.14%.
