Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the efforts of the Fisheries Service in empowering fishermen, as well as to determine the impact of empowerment activities carried out by the Fisheries Service on fishermen in Nipah Panjang District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency. The type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection using interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that the Fisheries Service's efforts to empower fishermen in Nipah Panjang District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency are seen from the human development aspect by providing technical guidance and training in entrepreneurship and bookkeeping, processing catches, and uniting goals. business development aspect by providing technical guidance and training on catch processing for fishing families and entrepreneurship for fishing communities, as well as helping fishermen collaborate with fishermen and providing information about export opportunities. Environmental development aspects by providing assistance with environmentally friendly fishing gear, assistance with boats/pumpongs and helping fishermen obtain subsidized diesel fuel, as well as institutional development aspects by providing guidance on the formation of fishermen farmer groups. The impact of empowerment activities carried out by the Fisheries Service on fishermen in Nipah Panjang District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency is the impact on fishermen's abilities and businesses which have not yet been optimal because only some fishermen have increased their abilities and have catch processing businesses, while the impact on the environment and Fishermen's institutions have been achieved optimally.
