Abstract

This research explores the Total Physical Response (TPR) Method for Teaching Literacy to Young Learners. The research aims to investigate the effect of using the TPR method on young EFL learners' literacy skills in English Subject Material Be On Time at CE (Creative English) Private Course unit Purwodadi, Muara Tebo. The sample in this study were students of Basic 4, amounting to 10 students. Sampling was done by convenience sampling. This research is a quantitative study using pre-experimental methods with a research design that is one group pre-testt – posttest. At the same time, data collection was done by using test techniques. The average pre-test result was 35.5 and the average post test result was 45.81. The data analysis technique used the "t" test. From the calculation results obtained, t0 = greater than the t table (at the significant level of 5%), meaning that H0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that the average Numerical Literacy learning outcomes of students using the TPR method are better than before. Keywords: TPR method, Numerical literacy, Learning outcomes.
