Abstract

Kata Kunci : Early Warning Score System (EWSS), pengetahuan, sikap ABSTRACT Background: The Early Warning Score System (EWSS) is one of the interventions developed to identify early physiological deterioration through routine measurement of vital signs, thus preventing the worsening of a patient's condition. Nurses play a central role in the use of the EWS system. Therefore, the level of nurses' knowledge is one of the factors influencing their attitudes and behaviors in the implementation of EWS. The aim of this research was to determine the level of knowledge and attitudes of nurses regarding EWSS in the inpatient ward of RSUD Raden Mattaher Jambi. Method: This study employed a quantitative research approach with an observational descriptive design. The total sampling technique was used, and the research instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis utilized univariate analysis with frequency distribution and percentages. Results: Out of 66 respondents, 3 nurses (4.5%) exhibited good knowledge, 23 nurses (34.8%) had sufficient knowledge, and 40 nurses (60.6%) had insufficient knowledge regarding EWSS. Additionally, 42 nurses (63.6%) demonstrated positive attitudes, 24 nurses (36.4%) had neutral attitudes, and none exhibited a negative attitude. Conclusion and Recommendations: The majority of nurses have insufficient knowledge but positive attitudes towards EWSS. The hospital will be able to provide training or further education on EWS, enabling nurses to use EWS accurately and reduce mortality rates in the hospital. Keywords: Early Warning Score System (EWSS), knowledge, attitude
