Abstract

Abstrak – Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh ukuran partikel arang cangkang biji karet dan mendapatkan ukuran partikel arang cangkang biji karet yang terbaik menurut SNI 01-6235-2000 dengan parameter kadar air, kadar abu, zat menguap, nilai kalor, kerapatan, ketahanan dan laju pembakaran. Penelitian berupa eksperimental dengan metode RAL, 6 perlakuan ukuran partikel (20,30,40,50,60 dan 70 mesh), 4 kali ulangan, uji hasil menggunakan ANOVA dan DMRT taraf 5%. Hasil briket cangkang biji karet terbaik yang dibuat dari ukuran partikel 50 mesh dengan kadar air 7,25%, kadar abu 1,54%, zat menguap 33,50%, nilai kalor 6.243,89 kal/g, kerapatan 0,694 g/cm3 , ketahanan 2,13% dan laju pembakaran 0,161 g/menit. Abstract – This research aims to examine the effect of rubber seed shell charcoal particle size and obtain the best rubber seed shell charcoal particle size according to SNI 01-6235-2000 with the parameters of water content, ash content, volatile matter, calorific value, density, durability and combustion rate. The research was experimental using the RAL method, 6 particle size treatments (20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 mesh), 4 repetitions, test results using ANOVA and DMRT at 5% level. The best rubber seed shell briquettes are made from a particle size of 50 mesh with a water content of 7.25%, ash content of 1.54%, volatile matter of 33.50%, calorific value of 6,243.89 cal/g, density of 0.694 g/cm3, resistance 2.13% and burning rate 0.161 g/min.
