Abstract
Endapan nikel laterit merupakan hasil pelapukan dari batuan ultramafik pembawa unsur Ni, penyebaran batuan ultramafik di Indonesia kebanyakan berada di wilayah bagian timur Indonesia. Morfologi merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam pembentukan endapan nikel laterit, selain faktor penting lainya, yakni batuan dasar (ultramafik), struktur geologi, iklim, waktu, reaksi pelarutan kimia dan vegetasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi geologi dan pengaruh morfologi terhadap zona pengkayaan nikel pada daerah penelitian di PT. Antam Tbk Kabupaten Konawe Utara, Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara. Metode yang digunakan meliputi tahapan persiapan seperti studi literatur, tahapan pengambilan data lapangan (litologi, geomorfologi, struktur geologi), tahapan pengolahan data lapangan, analisis korelasi data bor dan geokimia berupa data XRF serta menggunakan data analisis petrografi. Adapun hasil penelitian seperti geomorfologi terdapat 2 bentang alam yaitu denudasional dan fluvial serta memiliki pola pengaliran paralel. Berdasarkan hasil petrografi maka didapatkan litologi berupa lherzolit dan dunit yang dominan terhadap mineral olivin dan piroksen. Berdasarkan hasil korelasi Pada daerah dengan kemiringan topografi yang bervariasi akan membentuk endapan nikel laterit dengan ketebalan yang berbeda dan Kondisi morfologi sangat mempengaruhi sirkulasi air beserta unsur lainnya. Daerah yang landai, air akan bergerak perlahan-lahan sehingga akan mempunyai kesempatan untuk masuk lebih dalam melalui rekahan-rekahan atau pori-pori batuan. Pada daerah terjal, air akan mengalir di permukaan dan terjadi erosi yang intensif. Akumulasi endapan umumnya terdapat pada daerah yang landai sampai kemiringan sedang. Laterite nickel deposits are the result of weathering of ultramafic rocks carrying the element Ni. The distribution of ultramafic rocks in Indonesia is mostly in the eastern region of Indonesia. Morphology is an important factor in the formation of laterite nickel deposits, in addition to other important factors, namely bedrock (ultramafic), geological structure, climate, time, chemical dissolution reactions and vegetation. This research aims to determine the geological conditions and influence of morphology on the nickel enrichment zone in the research area at PT. Antam Tbk North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The methods used include preparation stages such as literature studies, field data collection stages (lithology, geomorphology, geological structure), field data processing stages, correlation analysis of drill and geochemical data in the form of XRF data and using petrographic analysis data. As for research results such as geomorphology, there are 2 landforms, namely denudational and fluvial and have parallel drainage patterns. Based on the petrography results, it was found that the lithology was lherzolite and dunit which were dominant over olivine and pyroxene minerals. Based on the correlation results, in areas with varying topographic slopes, laterite nickel deposits will form with different thicknesses and the morphological conditions greatly influence the circulation of water and other elements. In sloping areas, water will move slowly so that it will have the opportunity to enter deeper through cracks or rock pores. In steep areas, water will flow over the surface and intensive erosion will occur. Sediment accumulation is generally found in areas with gentle to moderate slopes.
