Abstract
– Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi NaOH dan perlakuan terbaik dalam pembuatan kertas. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan NaOH. Faktor yang digunakan adalah konsentrasi pelarut NaOH terdiri dari 4 kosentrasi yaitu: P1 = 5% NaOH, P2 = 10% NaOH, P3 = 15% NaOH dan P4 = 20% NaOH. Parameter yang diuji adalah, rendemen pulp, kadar air pulp, gramatur kertas, ketahanan tarik kertas, dan ketahanan sobek kertas. Analisa data menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Varian). Hasil penelitian pada konsentrasi NaOH memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap kadar air pulp, gramatur kertas, ketahanan tarik kertas dan ketahanan sobek kertas, namun tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap rendemen pulp. Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada konsentrasi NaOH 15% dalam proses pembuatan pulp dan kertas. Dengan rata-rata kosentrasi NaOH 15% kadar air 9,41%, rendemen 60,210 %, gramatur 447,00 g/m2, uji ketahanan tarik 0,200 kN/m, dan uji ketahan sobek 874,75 mN. This research aims to determine the effect of NaOH concentration and the best treatment in making paper. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) using NaOH. The factor used is the concentration of the NaOH solvent consisting of 4 concentrations, namely: P1 = 5% NaOH, P2 = 10% NaOH, P3 = 15% NaOH and P4 = 20% NaOH. The parameters tested were pulp yield, pulp moisture content, paper grammage, paper tensile resistance and paper tear resistance. Data analysis using ANOVA (Analysis of Variant). The results of the research on NaOH concentration had a real influence on pulp moisture content, paper grammage, paper tensile resistance and paper tear resistance, but did not have an influence on pulp yield. The best treatment was obtained at a NaOH concentration of 15% in the pulp and paper making process. With an average NaOH concentration of 15%, the water content was 9.41%, the yield was 60.210%, the grammage was 447.00 g/m2, the tensile resistance test was 0.200 kN/m, and the tear resistance test was 874.75 mN.
