Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar perekat melamin formaldehida dengan ektender tepung buah nipah mempengaruhi sifat fisis dan mekanis papan partikel yang dihasilkan berdasarkan standar JIS A 5908-2003. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan satu faktorial yaitu kadar perekat dengan tiga taraf perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan dikali dengan lima kali ulangan, sehingga total sampel sebanyak 15 sampel. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tabel sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan pengujian yang memberikan pengaruh nyata dianalisis lebih lanjut menggunakan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah komposisi bahan baku papan partikel memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap papan partikel meliputi kadar air, pengembangan tebal dan Modulus of Rupture. Sedangkan pengaruh tidak nyata terhadap kerapatan, Modulus of Elastisity, daya serap air, internal Bond dan kuat pegang sekrup. Hasil terbaik pada penelitian ini menunjukan pada kadar perekat 18% degan nilai rata-rata kerapatan (0,66kg/cm3 ), kadar air (6,71%), daya serap air (100,47%) pengembangan tebal (13,46%), Modulus of elasticity (4866,88 kg/cm2 ), Modulus of Rupture (40,27 kg/cm2 ) Internal Bond (1,23 kg/cm2 ) dan kuat pegang skrup (11,49). Nilainya memenuhi Standar JIS A 5908-2003 pada nilai kerapatan, kadar air, daya serap air, dan pengembangan tebal. Abstract This research aims to analyze the levels of melamine formaldehyde adhesive with palm fruit flour extender affecting the physical and mechanical properties of particle board produced based on the JIS A 5908-2003 standard. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factorial, namely adhesive content with three treatment levels and each treatment was multiplied by five replications, so that the total sample was 15 samples. The data analysis technique in this research uses a variance table (ANOVA) and tests that provide a real effect are further analyzed using the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results of this research are that the composition of particle board raw materials has a real influence on particle board including water content, thickness expansion and Modulus of Rupture. Meanwhile, there is no real influence on density, Modulus of Elasticity, water absorption capacity, internal bond and screw holding strength. The best results in this research showed an adhesive content of 18% with average values of density (0.66kg/cm3), water content (6.71%), water absorption capacity (100.47%) thickness development (13.46% ), Modulus of elasticity (4866.88 kg/cm2), Modulus of Rupture (40.27 kg/cm2) Internal Bond (1.23 kg/cm2) and screw holding strength (11.49).
