Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari respons bibit Durian varietas Otong asal sambung pucuk terhadap perbedaan komposisi media tanam dan mendapatkan komposisi media tanam untuk pertumbuhan bibit Durian varietas Otong asal sambung pucuk yang terbaik. Penelitian dilakukan di Teaching and Research Farm Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi, Desa Mendalo Indah, Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2023 - Januari 2024. Penelitian menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan satu faktor yaitu komposisi media tanam, terdari dari empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah sebagai berikut : k0 = tanah 10 kg (kontrol), k1 = tanah 5 kg : kompos 5 kg (1:1), k2 = tanah 6,7 kg : kompos 3,3 kg (2:1), k3= tanah 7,5 kg : kompos 2,5 kg (3:1). Variabel yang diamati yaitu pertambahan tinggi bibit (cm), pertambahan jumlah daun (helai), pertambahan diameter batang (cm), jumlah cabang, dan luas daun. Dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian komposisi media tanam tanah dan kompos memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan bibit durian varietas Otong asal sambung pucuk. Kata kunci : Bibit Durian, Komposisi Media Tanam. This research aims to study the response of Durian seedlings of the Otong variety from shoot grafting to differences in the composition of the planting media and to obtain the composition of the planting media for the best growth of Durian seedlings of the Otong variety from shoot grafting. The research was conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, Mendalo Indah Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, carried out in October 2023 - January 2024. The research used a Randomized Block Design method with one factor, namely the composition of the planting media, consisting of four treatment and six replications. The treatments applied were as follows: k0 = 10 kg soil (control), k1 = 5 kg soil : 5 kg compost (1:1), k2 = 6.7 kg soil : 3.3 kg compost (2:1), k3= 7.5 kg soil : 2.5 kg compost (3:1). The variables observed were the increase in seed height (cm), the increase in the number of leaves (pieces), the increase in stem diameter (cm), the number of branches, and the leaf area. From the research it can be concluded that the composition of soil and compost planting media has an influence on the growth of durian seedlings of the Otong variety from shoot grafting.
