Abstract

A prosecutor is an official who has authority from statutory regulations as a Public Prosecutor and carries out the judge's determination, as well as other authorities based on statutory regulations. These other authorities include exercising authority as a State Attorney who is given the authority to enforce the law in defending the interests of the State. The aims of this study are twofold: 1) To investigate the procedures governing state attorneys' representation of the government in Indonesia. 2) To examine the jurisdiction of prosecutors acting as state attorneys general. This study adopts a normative juridical research approach, which seeks to assess relevant norms or regulations and analyze secondary data or literature sources to evaluate the arrangements for state attorneys general representing the government within the Indonesian justice system, as stipulated in Law No. 16 of 2004, as last amended by Law No. 11 of 2021, concerning the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Indonesia. The role of state attorneys, both in terms of regulation, in court, and in their duties and functions, is problematic. Therefore, through the arrangement of state prosecutors, it is hoped that it can reduce problems and increase cooperation between government institutions in Indonesia.
