Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus kepada Storyline peninggalan Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin di museum Siginjei dan Museum Perjuangan Rakyat Jambi melalui Perspektif New Museology. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui alur cerita yang dibangun oleh Museum Siginjei dan Museum Perjuangan Rakyat Jambi mengenai Benda-benda Peninggalan Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin, melalui Perspektif New Museology. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif serta pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara dokumentasi dan Studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Museum Siginjei dan Museum Perjuangan Rakyat Jambi masih menggunakan Paradigma lama dalam pengembangan koleksi dan museumnya, namun kedua museum sudah mulai menerapkan New Museology secara bertahap. Adapun usaha kedua Museum dalam penerapan konsep New Museology ini ialah dengan seringnya diadakan Event seperti pameran, lomba, seminar dan hal lainnya yang menanik pengunjung untuk datang ke museum. Namun hal itu juga masih belum membuat adanya komunikasi dua arah dan pihak museum dan pengunjung terhadap benda-benda koleksi di Museum, telebih pada peninggalan Sultan Thaha syaifuddin, meskipun demikian dalam penerapan konsep New Museology ini kedua museum akan terus melakukan yang terbaik untuk kemajuan pengembangan museum. This research focuses on the Storyline of Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin's relics in the Siginjei museum and the Jambi People's Struggle Museum through the New Museology Perspective. The aim is to find out the storyline built by the Siginjei Museum and the Jambi People's Struggle Museum regarding the Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin Relics, through the New Museology Perspective. This research uses qualitative methods and data collection by means of observation, interviews documentation and literature studies. The results showed that the Siginjei Museum and the Jambi People's Struggle Museum still use the old paradigm in developing their collections and museums, but both museums have begun to apply New Museology gradually. The efforts of the two museums in applying the concept of New Museology are often held events such as exhibitions, competitions. seminars and other things that attract visitors to come to the museum. but it also still does not make two-way communication and the museum and visitors to the collection objects in the Museum, especially in the relics of Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin,even so in applying the concept of New Museology both museums will continue to do their best for the progress of museum development.
