Abstract
PT. Batubara Jambi Lestari plans to use an open mining system using the strip mining method in the northern block area. In the northern block area, detailed exploration has been carried out so that an accurate estimate of the resources and reserves in the area is needed so that the planned mining does not suffer losses. In estimating resources and reserves, the Nearest Neighbor Point (NNP) method is used in the block model with the help of mining software. From the exploration data in the form of collar, topography, survey and lithology data, a cross-check was carried out between the collar data and topography data. This was done to determine the difference in average elevation between the drill point and the topographic surface with the result being -0.2%. Lithological data needs to be validated through trial-error modeling of coal deposits, where lithological parts whose thickness is less than 10 centimeters will be composited into coal lithology or overburden. Vice versa, so that three lithological data are obtained in the form of two interburden data and one parting data. In the northern block, a resource polygon is created which is limited by the IUP so that the results obtained are that only measurable resources with a radius of 250 meters are within the IUP. Deposit modeling is made with structural contours based on trial-error towards down dip to the IUP boundary. Deposit modeling is made with structural contours based on trial-error towards down dip to the IUP boundary. So from the incision made to the position of the coal seam with a strike of N 135 E° (Southeast) and an average dip of 12° (Southwest) in the geological model in the direction of the left wing of the anticline which follows the large anticline (jungutingik embankment anticline). Based on the block model report for coal estimation, the resource tonnage in the northern block is 2.359.525 tonnes. The pit design design was made following the striping ratio (SR) according to company policy with parameters namely: bench height 5 meters, bench width 3 meters and single slope 55°. From these parameters, a pit design was made through trial and error using a block model with a pit design result of SR 3,01; 4,02; 5,11. To obtain coal reserves in each pit design, it is necessary to make a pit with a roof boundary and a pit with a floor boundary. Then the coal volume on the pit roof and pit floor is estimated so that the overburden volume for the pit SR is 3.10; 4.02; 5.11 respectively, namely 1.185.625 Bcm, 2.176.250 Bcm, 3.845.000 Bcm. For PIT design with SR 3,01; 4,02; 5,11 has coal reserve tonnage of 393.750 tons, 541.500 tons, 753.000 tons respectively. Key words: Block Model, Coal, Estimation, NNP, Reserves, Resources
