Abstract
The perception of AI translation tools among students significantly influences their attitudes and behaviours toward using technology in translation learning. This qualitative research explored students’ perceptions of AI translation tools in the translation process, collecting data through interviews with 3 EFL students and analyzing it using thematic analysis. Three themes emerged: first, recognizing the benefits of AI tools for practicality, time savings, and efficiency; second, emphasizing the importance of maintaining original meaning and cultural elements for accurate translation; and third, highlighting the necessity of revision and post-editing to ensure accuracy, coherence, and cultural appropriateness. AI tools enhance productivity and simplify translation tasks while maintaining high standards through effective revising and post-editing.
