Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the role of the Health Service in reducing stunting rates in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. This research found that the role of the Health Service in reducing stunting rates includes four main aspects: facilitative, educational, representational and technical roles. Although various efforts have been made, research results show that these roles are not optimal. Barriers identified include a lack of adequate sanitation facilities, limited access to mass media for disseminating information, and minimal collaboration with external parties such as non-governmental organizations and the private sector. Apart from that, limited human resources and budget are also significant obstacles. This research suggests the need to increase the intensity of educational programs for the community regarding the importance of children's nutrition and health, improve sanitation facilities in areas that need it, and strengthen cross-sector collaboration to create synergy in efforts to reduce stunting rates. The conclusion of this research emphasizes that with more coordinated and comprehensive efforts, the Health Service can be more effective in reducing the prevalence of stunting in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency.
