Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the application of the mind map method in learning to make poetry in class VIII of SMP Negeri 25 Jambi City. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. This research data is in the form of the process of applying the mind map method in learning to make poetry in class VIII of SMP Negeri 25 Jambi City. The data sources for this research are Indonesian language subject teachers and students in class VIII C of SMP Negeri 25 Jambi City. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and document analysis. The results of applying the mind map method in learning to make poetry proceed according to the learning stages that have been arranged based on the teaching module. Judging from student learning outcomes, the application of the mind map method has proven to be effective in helping students process their hidden thoughts into writing. This is proven by the average score of 85.79 in the good category. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode mind map dalam pembelajaran membuat puisi di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 25 Kota Jambi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Data penelitian ini berupa proses penerapan metode mind map dalam pembelajaran membuat puisi di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 25 Kota Jambi. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah guru mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia dan siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 25 Kota Jambi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penerapan metode mind map dalam pembelajaran membuat puisi berjalan sesuai tahapan pembelajaran yang telah disusun berdasarkan modul ajar. Dilihat dari hasil belajar siswa, penerapan metode mind map terbukti efektif membantu siswa mengolah pemikirannya yang terendap menjadi tulisan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan rata-rata skor sebesar 85,79 dengan kategori baik.
