Abstract

RINGKASAN Hutan mangrove merupakan komunitas vegetasi pantai tropis yang terdiri atas beberapa spesies yang mampu tumbuh dan berkembang pada daerah pasang surut pantai berlumpur. Ekosistem mangrove sangat penting dan berdampak sistemik terhadap ekosistem pesisir lainnya. Wilayah pesisir memiliki berbagai ragam aktivitas masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya alam pesisir di bidang perekonomian seperti kegiatan budidaya ikan dan udang di tambak, budidaya rumput laut, budidaya kepiting, pariwisata, industri, pemukiman, perhubungan dan berbagai aktivitas lainnya. Faktor kondisi sosial serta kurangnya pemahaman tentang fungsi dan manfaat mangrove juga berpengaruh terhadap kerusakan ekosistem mangrove. Hal ini secara langsung menimbulkan dampak ekologis yang mengancam kelestarian hutan mangrove. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kerusakan dan keanekaragman mangrove di Kawasan ekosistem mangrove Kelurahan Tanjung Solok. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara secara mendalam (indepth interview), dan secara observasi dilapangan dengan pengambilan data meliputi dokumentasi dan identifikasi sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kerusakan ekosisitem mangrove di Kelurahan Tanjung Solok Kecamatan Kuala Jambi termasuk kategori rendah atau rusak, karena didapatkan hasil kerapatan pohon <1000 pohon/ha. Hal ini disebabkan oleh faktor aktivitas serta kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat sekitar. Serta tingkat keanekaragaman (H’) yang didapatkan di Kelurahan Tanjung Solok Kecamatan Kuala Jambi, diperoleh nilai sebesar 2,033. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat keanekaragaman vegetasi mangrove di Kelurahan Tanjung Solok Kecamatan Kuala Jambi termasuk kategori sedang. SUMMARY Mangrove forests are tropical coastal vegetation communities consisting of several species that are able to grow and develop in muddy coastal tidal areas. The mangrove ecosystem is very important and has a systemic impact on other coastal ecosystems. Coastal areas have a variety of community activities in utilizing coastal natural resources in the economic sector, such as fish and shrimp cultivation in ponds, seaweed cultivation, crab cultivation, tourism, industry, housing, transportation and various other activities. Social conditions and a lack of understanding of the functions and benefits of mangroves also influence the damage to the mangrove ecosystem. This directly causes ecological impacts that threaten the sustainability of mangrove forests. The aim of this research is to analyze the damage and diversity of mangroves in the mangrove ecosystem area of Tanjung Solok Village. This research method uses in-depth interview techniques and field observations with data collection including documentation and sample identification. The research results show that the damage to the mangrove ecosystem in Tanjung Solok Village, Kuala Jambi District is in the low or damaged category, because the tree density results were <1000 trees/ha. This is caused by activity factors and lack of knowledge of the surrounding community. And the level of diversity (H') obtained in Tanjung Solok Village, Kuala Jambi District, obtained a value of 2.033. This shows that the level of diversity of mangrove vegetation in Tanjung Solok Village, Kuala Jambi District is in the medium category.
