Abstract
Latar Belakang. Nanas (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr), Losion, Kelembapan Background. Pineapples (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr) contain ananasate, citric acid, saponins, tannins, flavonoids, polyphenols and the enzyme bromelain. Pineapples also contain vitamin C and vitamin A. Both vitamins have long been known to have activity as antioxidants which can stop the chain reaction of free radical formation. Vitamin C is also needed to make collagen in the body which is needed to care for skin tissue so that the skin is not damaged and causes the skin to become dry. The aim of this research is to determine the concentration of pineapple extract in lotion preparations that can moisturize the skin. Method. This study aims to determine the percentage of moisture from 3 variations in concentration (1.25%, 2.5%, 5%) of lotion preparations, as well as determine the antioxidant activity value of preparations that have a high percentage of moisture using the DPPH method, evaluating the physical properties of the lotion using the method descriptive, while the results of the pH, spreadability, stickiness and viscosity tests were statistically analyzed using One Way Anova and Duncan as further tests. Results. The results of the lotion preparation that had the highest increase in moisture were in formula 3 (concentration 5%) with a percentage of 12.02%. The antioxidant activity value of formula 3 has an IC50 of 77.410 which is categorized as a strong antioxidant. Organoleptic tests were obtained for the three formulas, namely ivory white and orange with a typical rose smell and semi-solid, homogeneous form and with an O/W emulsion type, stable. The results of the pH, spreadability, stickiness and viscosity tests meet the physical evaluation requirements. The lotion preparation does not irritate and provides skin moisture after application. Conclusion. The concentration of 5% pineapple extract in the lotion preparation has the highest moisture activity with a moisture increase value of 12.02% and has a strong antioxidant activity value (IC50=77.410).
