Abstract

This research aims to (1) describe the description of California Papaya farming and local papaya in Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency, (2) determine the income of California Papaya farming and local papaya in Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency, and (3) compare the level of farming income California papaya and local papaya in Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency. This research was carried out in Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province. The data obtained from respondents were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis including income analysis and one sample t test. The research results obtained are (1) The description of California Papaya farming in the research area is that farming activities are still simple and on a small scale, (2) California Papaya farming income in Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency is IDR 5,854,348/Ha/month and farming income Local papaya in Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency is IDR 3.424,767/Ha/month. (3) The results of the one sample t-test on California Papaya and Local Papaya farming in Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency with a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, then this means that the monthly income of California Papaya farming is lower than the monthly income local papaya farming.
