Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to reveal the perceptions of the Toba Batak tribe community regarding women's political participation in Humbang Hasundutan Regency in the 2024 Election. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who are members of the Toba Batak tribe community in the area. Data analysis was carried out using the content analysis method to identify the main themes in public perceptions of women's political participation. The results of the research showthat people's perceptions of women's political participation in the context of Toba Batak culture are influenced by political participation, gender and political culture. Although there is a positive trend towards increasing the political role of women, there are still significant challenges such as gender stereotypes, traditional expectations of women's roles, and barriers to access to political resources. This research provides an important contribution to the understanding of socio-political dynamics in Toba Batak society, especially in the context of women's political participation. It is hoped that the implications of the results of this research can provide a basis for formulating more inclusive and supportive policies to increase women's political participation in Indonesia, especially in regions with a rich cultural background such as the Toba Batak tribe. Keywords: Women's Political Participation, Community Perception, Toba Batak Tribe, 2024 Election.
