Abstract
NURSING CARE A LEMON AROMATHERAPY INTERVENTION TO NAUSEA VOMITING AND SLEEP DISORDER ON PREGNANCY WOMEN IN THE WORKING AREA OF PUTRI AYU HEALTH CENTER JAMBI CITY Background: Nausea and vomiting are symptoms of discomfort that often occur in pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Nausea and vomiting occur due to progesterone hormone levels which also increase the HCG hormone which causes an increase in stomach acid and contraction of the smooth muscles of the digestive tract. The assessment was carried out on Mrs. D aged 25 years in the first trimester of pregnancy with complaints of nausea and vomiting. Lemon aromatherapy, as a complementary therapy, contains compounds that can kill bacteria and neutralize unpleasant odors. When the substances in lemon aromatherapy enter the stomach, the levels of the HCG hormone will be reduced so that stomach emptying is slowed and bowel movements will also be regulated so that symptoms of nausea are reduced. Purpose: This study aims to provide nursing care by administering lemon aromatherapy to pregnant women in the first trimester with nausea and vomiting. Method: The method used is a case study with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and physical examination with the intervention of providing lemon aromatherapy to reduce nausea and vomiting. Aromatherapy is given by dripping 3-5 drops of lemon essential oil on a piece of tissue then inhaling for 5 minutes at a distance of 2 cm from the nose in the morning and the night before going o bed. Results: Analysis of the case study showed a reduction in nausea and vomiting after administering the intervention for 7 days. Judging from complaints and PUQE-24 scores which decreased on the first day of intervention with a score of 7 (moderate nausea and vomiting category), on the third day the PUQE-24 score was 3 (mild nausea and vomiting category), on the fifth day with 6 (mild nausea and vomiting) and on the seventh day of intervention a score of 3 (mild nausea and vomiting category). Conclusion: Lemon aromatherapy is effective in reducing nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women. Keywords: Lemon Aromatherapy, Nausea and Vomiting,Sleep Disorder, Pregnant Women
