Abstract

Pupuk merupakan sumber unsur hara utama tanaman. Penggunaan pupuk anorganik secara berkelanjutan akan mengakibatkan pengerasan tanah. Penggunaan pupuk anorganik dapat dikurangi dengan cara menggunakan pupuk organik. Penggunaan pupuk organik juga dapat digunakan sebagai solusi mengurangi limbah yang tidak terkendali. Untuk mempermudah membuat pupuk organik tersebut maka dirancanglah sebuah alat yang diberi nama Komposter Aerob. Proses dekomposisi yang terjadi didalam komposter aerob melibatkan mikroba yang terdapat pada Aktivator EM-4 (40 ml) ditambah dengan larutan Molase yang terdiri dari campuran gula merah, air rendaman beras dan air mineral dengan perbandingan 1:1:1. Proses dekomposisi terjadi secara aerob selama 30 hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang bangun komposter untuk memproduksi pupuk organik padat, serta melakukan uji hasil pupuk organik padat terhadap parameter yang sesuai SNI. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu: Tahap pertama desain rancangan komposter aerob, tahap kedua tahap perakitan komposter aerob, tahap ketiga tahap pengujian komposter aerob, tahap keempat karakterisasi produk pupuk organik padat (pop) yang dihasilkan sesuai standar Kepmentan dan SNI. Hasil dari penelitian berupa Komposter yang dibuat menggunakan metode aerob tipe vertikal tanpa pengadukan, berkapasitas 60 L dengan diameter 38 cm dan tinggi 69 cm. Hasil dari komposter aerob ini berupa pupuk organik padat sebanyak 3 kg dengan warna hitam, berbau seperti tanah, memiliki tekstur granul, padat dan kasar, kandungan pH 6,19 mendekati netral, suhu akhir 25,8oC, C-Organik 26,09%, N-Total 1,59%, dan Rasio C/N-Organik 16,41. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah rancang bangun komposter aerob yang dirakit berhasil memproduksi pupuk organik padat dari limbah sayur. Kualitas pupuk organik padat yang dihasilkan memenuhi standar Kepmentan 2019 dan SNI 2024. Saran perlunya ditambahkan sistem pengadukan dalam komposter aerob. Fertilizer is the main source of plant nutrients. Continuous use of inorganic fertilizers will result in soil hardening. The use of inorganic fertilizers can be reduced by using organic fertilizers. The use of organic fertilizer can also be used as a solution to reduce uncontrolled waste. To make it easier to make organic fertilizer, a tool was designed which was named the Aerobic Composter. The decomposition process that occurs in the aerobic composter involves the microbes contained in the EM-4 Activator (40 ml) plus a molasses solution consisting of a mixture of brown sugar, rice soaking water and mineral water in a ratio of 1:1:1. The decomposition process occurs aerobically for 30 days. This research aims to design a composter to produce solid organic fertilizer, as well as test the results of solid organic fertilizer against parameters that comply with SNI. The research method was carried out in several stages, namely: The first stage was the design of the aerobic composter, the second stage was the assembly stage of the aerobic composter, the third stage was the testing stage of the aerobic composter, the fourth stage was the characterization of the solid organic fertilizer (pop) product produced according to the Minister of Agriculture and SNI standards. The results of the research are a composter made using the vertical type aerobic method without stirring, with a capacity of 60 L with a diameter of 38 cm and a height of 69 cm. The result of this aerobic composter is 3 kg of solid organic fertilizer with a black color, smells like soil, has a granular texture, is dense and coarse, a pH content of 6,19 is close to neutral, a final temperature of 25,8oC, C-Organic 26,09%, N-Total 1,59%, and C/N-Organic Ratio 16,41. The conclusion of this research is that the aerobic composter design that was assembled was successful in producing solid organic fertilizer from vegetable waste. The quality of the solid organic fertilizer produced meets the standards of the Ministry of Agriculture 2019 and SNI 2024. Suggestions are needed to add a mixing system to the aerobic composter.
