Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan(1)menganalilis pengaruh perbedaan variasi konsentrasi larutan asam fosfat (H3PO4) sebagai aktifator karbon serbuk gergaji sengon (Albizia chinensis) terhadap karakteristik karbon aktif. (2)memperoleh konsentrasi larutan asam fosfat (H3PO4) terbaik pada aktifasi arang aktif serbuk gergaji sengon (Albizia chinensis) terhadap karakteristik karbon aktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan satu faktor yaitu variasi konsentrasi dengan enam taraf perlakuan yang masing masing perlakuan yang di kali tiga ulangan, sehingga semua sampel sebanyak 18 sampel. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data menggunakan tabel sidik ragam (ANOVA). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah komposisi bahan baku briket arang memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata terhadap karakterisasi arang aktif meliputi kadar air, kadar abu, kadar zat menguap, kadar karbon terikat. Hasil sidik ragam menunjukan bahwa terdapat konsentrasi aktifator larutan asam fosfat 15% Merupakan konsentrasi terbaik karena berada pada variabel terendah pada 4 tahapan pengujian meliputi kadar air 3.57%, Kadar Abu 1,33%, kadar zat menguap 40% dan kadar karbon 58,67%. Arang aktif serbuk gergaji sengon pada variasi konsentrasi 15% memenuhi semua SNI pengujian arang aktif. Kata Kunci: Arang Aktif, Variasi Kosentrasi Larutan, Karakterisasi Arang Aktif ABSTRACT This research aims to (1) analyze the effect of different concentrations of phosphoric acid solution (H3PO4) as a carbon activator for sengon sawdust (Albizia chinensis) on the characteristics of activated carbon. (2) obtain the best concentration of phosphoric acid solution (H3PO4) in the activation of sengon sawdust (Albizia chinensis) activated charcoal on the characteristics of activated carbon. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, namely concentration variation with six treatment levels, each treatment being repeated three times, so that the total sample was 18 samples. Next, data analysis was carried out using a variance table (ANOVA). The results of this research are that the composition of the raw material for charcoal briquettes has no significant influence on the characteristics of activated charcoal including water content, ash content, volatile matter content, and bound carbon content. The variance results show that there is an activator concentration of 15% phosphoric acid solution. This is the best concentration because it is in the lowest variable in the 4 test stages including water content of 3.57%, ash content of 1.33%, volatile matter content of 40% and carbon content of 58.67%. . Sengon sawdust activated charcoal at a concentration variation of 15% meets all SNIs for activated charcoal testing.
