Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan jarak terhadap kualitas semen beku sapi Bali pasca thawing. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari yaitu P0: Kontrol (straw direndam dalam nitrogen cair), P1: Straw diangkat dengan jarak 5 cm diatas permukaan N2 cair selama 30 detik, P2: Straw diangkat dengan jarak 10 cm diatas permukaan N2 cair selama 30 detik, P3: Straw diangkat dengan jarak 15 cm diatas permukaan N2 cair selama 30 detik, P4: Straw diangkat 20 cm diatas permukaan N2 cair selama 30 detik, P5: Straw diangkat 25 cm diatas permukaan N2 cair selama 30 detik. Penelitian dimulai dari tanggal 27 Oktober 2023 sampai dengan tanggal 27 November 2023 bertempat di Laboratorium Dinas Tanaman Pangan, Holtikultura dan Peternakan Provinsi Jambi. Peubah yang diamati adalah Motilitas Spermatozoa, Viabilitas Spermatozoa dan, Abnormalitas Spermatozoa. Data yang dihimpun dianalisis ragam dan apabila berpengaruh nyata, diuji menggunakan Uji Lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jarak tidak mempengaruhi kualitas abnormalitas (P<0,05) namun mempengaruhi kualitas motilitas dan viabilitas (P<0,05). Motilitas dan viabilitas spermatozoa mengalami penurunan pada P4 dan P5. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan ketinggian jarak straw dari permukaan N2 dapat menurunkan kualitas motilitas dan viabilitas spermatozoa namun, tidak menyebabkan penurunan pada kualitas abnormalitas spermatozoa. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of different distances on the quality of frozen semen of Bali Cattle after thawing. The design that used in this experiment was a completely randomised design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 5 replicates. The treatments were P0: Control (straw immersed in liquid nitrogen), P1: Straw raised at a distance of 5 cm above the surface of liquid N2, P2: Straw raised at a distance of 10 cm above the surface of liquid N2, P3: Straw lifted at a distance of 15 cm above the surface of liquid N2, P4: Straw raised 20 cm above the surface of liquid N2, P5: Straw raised 25 cm above the surface of liquid N2. The research was conducted in Jambi Province Food Crops, Holticulture and Livestock Service Office Laboratory 27th October – 27th November 2023. The observed variables was motility, viability and abnormality. The data obtained was analyze by using variance and continued using futher test duncan. The result of this research showed that distances did not affect the abnormality (P>0.05) but affected the quality of motility and viability (P<0.05). Motility and viability of spermatozoa decreased at P4 and P5. In conclusion, the difference in the height of the straw distance from the surface of N2 can reduce the quality of motility and viability of spermatozoa but, does not cause a decrease in the quality of spermatozoa abnormalities.
