Abstract
Tomat (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) merupakan salah satu komoditas sayuran yang diusahakan oleh petani di Indonesia. Permintaan pasar akan tomat setiap tahunnya semakin meningkat, sedangkan produktivitas tomat di Provinsi Jambi masih rendah bila dibandingkan dengan potensi hasil tomat varietas Servo F1. Rendahnya produktivitas tanaman tomat di Jambi Salah satu faktor penyebabnya karena rendahnya kesuburan tanah serta pemeliharaan yang masih belum optimal seperti penggunaan pupuk, pengendalian hama dan penyakit, dan lain-lain. Pada umumnya budidaya tanaman tomat dilakukan dengan menggunakan pupuk anorganik sebagai sumber haranya, namun pertanian dengan menggunakan pupuk anorganik dalam jangka panjang dapat berakibat buruk terhadap kondisi lahan dan lingkungan disekitarnya. Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian POC sabut kelapa terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman Tomat (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) dan mendapatkan konsentrasi terbaik POC sabut kelapa terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman Tomat (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Teaching and Reseach Farm Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jambi dimulai dari bulan Maret hingga bulan Mei 2024. Variabel yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah cabang, jumlah buah per tanaman, bobot buah per tanaman, dan berat per buah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa POC sabut kelapa pada tanaman tomat memberikan pengaruh terhadap variabel diameter batang, berat per buah, jumlah buah per tanaman, dan bobot buah per tanaman Namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman dan jumlah cabang tanaman tomat. Konsentrasi 300 mL.L -1 + 50% merupakan konsentrasi terbaik dalam meningkatkan bobot buah per tanaman dan jumlah buah per tanaman. Kata Kunci: Tanaman tomat, POC sabut kelapa Tomatoes (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) are one of the vegetable commodities cultivated by farmers in Indonesia. Market demand for tomatoes is increasing every year, while tomato productivity in Jambi Province is still low compared to the potential yield of Servo F1 tomato varieties. One of the factors causing the low productivity of tomato plants in Jambi is low soil fertility and maintenance that is still not optimal, such as the use of fertilizer, controlling pests and diseases, etc. In general, tomato cultivation is carried out using inorganic fertilizers as a source of nutrients, but farming using inorganic fertilizers in the long term can have a negative impact on the condition of the land and the surrounding environment.This experiment aims to examine the effect of giving coconut fiber POC on the growth and yield of Tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) and to obtain the best concentration of coconut fiber POC on the growth and yield of Tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) This research was carried out at the Faculty Teaching and Research Farm. Agriculture, Jambi University starting from March to May 2024. The variables observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, and weight per fruit. The results of the research showed that the POC of coconut fiber on tomato plants had an influence on the variables stem diameter, weight per fruit, number of fruit per plant, and fruit weight per plant. However, it had no significant effect on plant height and number of branches on tomato plants. A concentration of 300 mL.L -1 + 50% is the best concentration in increasing fruit weight per plant and number of fruit per plant. Key words: Tomato plants, POC coconut fiber
