Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk dan ragam hias nisan-nisan Islam kuno di Kecamatan Maro Sebo Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Nisan kuno di wilayah tersebut belum pernah dilakukan penelitian terutama morfologi dan ragam hias pada nisan. Penelitian ini penting dilakukan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai identitas nisan-nisan Islam kuno di Kecamatan Maro Sebo berdasarkan hasil analisis. Metode yang digunakan meliputi survei, observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Keseluruhan data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis morfologi dan analisis stilistik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat delapan belas nisan-nisan Islam kuno yang terdiri dari empat bentuk dasar meliputi pipih, pipih bersayap, silindris persegi delapan, dan silindris persegi empat. Ragam hias nisan berupa panel persegi panjang, panel pintu Aceh, jala, medallion, kelopak bunga teratai, bungong kalimah dan bungong sagoe. Berdasarkan bentuk dan ragam hiasnya nisan-nisan di Kecamatan Maro Sebo diklasifikasikan ke dalam tiga tipe yaitu tipe Aceh, Demak-Troloyo, dan Melayu. ABSTRACT This research aims to identify the shape and ornaments of ancient Islamic gravestones in Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi regency. Ancient gravestones in the region have never been researched, especially the morphology and ornaments of the gravestones. This research is important to provide information about the identity of ancient Islamic gravestones in Maro Sebo District based on the results of the analysis. The methods used include survey, observation, interview and literature study. The whole data is then analyzed using morphological analysis and stylistic analysis. The results of the research analysis show that there are eighteen ancient Islamic gravestones consisting of four basic shapes including flat, winged flat, octagonal cylindrical, and rectangular cylindrical. The gravestones ornaments are rectangular panels, Aceh door panels, nets, medallions, lotus petals, bungong kalimah, and bungonng sagoe. Based on their shapes and ornaments, the gravestones in Maro Sebo sub-district are classified into three types, they are Aceh type, Demak-Troloyo type, and Malay type.
