Abstract
ABSTRAK Lahan gambut adalah lahan yang memiliki lapisan tanah yang kaya akan bahan organik (C-Organik > 18 %) dengan memiliki ketebalan 50 cm bahkan lebih. Lahan gambut memiliki potensi yang cukup besar, namun memiliki produktivitas yang tergolong rendah apabila pengelolaan yang kurang tepat akan menyebabkan kerugian dalam bidang pertanian. Kopi Liberika merupakan tanaman yang cukup baik tumbuh dan berkembang di lahan gambut, sehingga kopi liberika disebut juga dengan kopi khas gambut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Jati Mulyo, Kecamatan Dendang, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur, Provinsi Jambi. Analisis sifat fisika tanah dilakukan di Laboratorium Kesuburan Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei. Penetapan titik sampel berdasarkan satuan lahan homogen (SLH) yaitu kedalaman gambut, kematangan gambut dan tinggi muka air tanah gambut dan didapatkan 7 Titik sampel dengan 2 kedalaman yaitu kedalaman 0-30 cm dan kedalaman 30-60 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat perbedaan sifat fisika pada lahan yang akan dijadikan pengembangan tanaman kopi liberika dan lahan yang sudah ditanami kopi liberika. Lahan pada lokasi penelitian relatif tidak sesuai untuk dijadikan sebagai lahan pengembangan tanaman kopi liberika dari tingkat kedalaman dan kematangan tanah gambut. Kandungan bahan organik pada lahan yang akan dijadikan pengembangan tanaman kopi liberika memiliki nilai tinggi dan bobot volume rendah dibandingkan dengan lahan gambut yang sudah ditanami tanaman kopi liberika. Lahan yang akan di jadikan pengembangan tanaman kopi liberika memiliki nilai total ruang pori dan kadar air tanah gambut tinggi di bandingkan lahan yang sudah ditanami tanaman kopi liberika. Kematangan,kedalaman dan TMA merupakan faktor yang sangat mempengaruhi sifat fisika di lokasi penelitian.Tinggi muka air dilokasi penelitian dominan <40 cm dengan luas 153,6 Ha. Terdapat 3 kelas kedalaman gambut yaitu gambut sedang 25,12 Ha, gambut dalam 52,17 Ha dan gambut sangat dalam 123,71 Ha. Tingkat kematangan gambut didominasikan dengan kematangan hemik 101,8 Ha diikuti dengan kematangan saprik 45,50 Ha dan kematangan fibrik 54,03 Ha. Kata kunci: Tanah Gambut, Kopi Liberika, Sifat Fisika. ABSTRACT Peatland is land that has a layer of soil rich in organic matter (C-Organic> 18%) with a thickness of 50 cm or more. Peatland has quite large potential, but has relatively low productivity if not managed properly will cause losses to the agricultural sector. Liberica coffee is a plant that grows and develops quite well on peatland, so liberica coffee is also called typical peat coffee. This research was conducted in Jati Mulyo Village, Dendang District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. Analysis of soil physical properties was carried out at the Soil Fertility Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi. The research was conducted using a survey method. Determination of sample points based on homogeneous land units (SLH), namely Peat Depth, Peat Maturity and Peat Groundwater Level and obtained 7 Sample Points with 2 depths, namely 0-30 cm and 30-60 cm. The results of the study showed that there were differences in physical properties on the land that would be used for the development of liberica coffee plants with land that had been planted with liberica coffee. The land at the research location is relatively less suitable for use as a land for developing liberica coffee plants in terms of the depth and maturity of the peat soil. The organic matter content in the land that will be used for developing liberica coffee plants has a high value and low volume weight compared to peat land that has been planted with liberica coffee plants. The land that will be used for developing liberica coffee plants has a high Total pore space value and peat soil water content compared to land that has been planted with liberica coffee plants. Maturity, depth and TMA are factors that greatly affect the physical properties of the research location. The water level at the research location is predominantly <40 cm with an area of 153.6 Ha. There are 3 classes of peat depth, namely medium peat 25.12 Ha, deep peat 52.17 Ha and very deep peat 123.71 Ha. The level of peat maturity is dominated by hemic maturity 101.8 Ha followed by sapric maturity 45.50 Ha and fibric maturity 54.03 Ha. Keywords: Peat Soil, Liberica Coffee, Physical Properties
