Abstract

Abstrak – Sampah plastik sulit terurai dan mencemari lingkungan. Bioplastik adalah upaya mengatasi masalah penggunaan kemasan plastik konvensional dan tidak berbahaya bagi lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tepung limbah udang jerbung dan gliserol dan mendapatkan perlakuan terbaik pada pembuatan bioplastik dari pati singkong. Rancangan yang dilakukann adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 taraf perlakuan dan empat kali ulangan sehingga didapatkan 20 satuan percobaan. Parameter yang diamati adalah kuat tarik, elongasi, ketahanan terhadap air, ketebalan, water vapour transmission rate (wvtr) dan transparansi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA taraf 5% dan 1%. Apabila terdapat pengaruh nyata pada perlakuan, dilanjutkan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) pada taraf 5%. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu perbandingan tepung limbah udang jerbung dan gliserol 0:3; 0,5:2,5; 1:2; 1,5:1,5; dan 2:1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bioplastik dengan perbandingan tepung limbah udang jerbung 2 : gliserol 1 adalah perlakuan terbaik dengan nilai kuat tarik 10,94 MPa, elongasi 2,18%, ketebalan 0,53 mm, ketahanan air 79,75%, WVTR 8,09 g/m2.jam dan transparansi 6,11%. Kata Kunci- Bioplastik; Gliserol; Tepung Limbah Udang Abstract - Plastic waste is difficult to decompose and contributes significantly to environmental pollution. Bioplastics offer a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic packaging and are environmentally friendly. This study aimed to examine the impact of shrimp waste flour and glycerol on bioplastic characteristics and identify the optimal formulation for producing bioplastic from cassava starch. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatment levels, each replicated four times, resulting in a total of 20 experimental units. The observed parameters included tensile strength, elongation, water resistance, thickness, water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), and transparency. The collected data were analyzed using ANOVA at significance levels of 5% and 1%. If a significant effect was found, Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% was performed. The treatments consisted of different ratios of shrimp waste flour to glycerol: 0:3, 0.5:2.5, 1:2, 1.5:1.5, and 2:1. The results indicated that the bioplastic with a shrimp waste flour to glycerol ratio of 2:1 yielded the best properties, with a tensile strength of 10.94 MPa, elongation of 2.18%, thickness of 0.53 mm, water resistance of 79.75%, WVTR of 8.09 g/m².hour, and transparency of 6.11%.
